What we’re all about
The Mastermind Group started in April 2018 with one simple purpose:
To get a group of women business owners together to chat about business. Not to network, but to just talk about the nitty gritty details of running a business.
In 2018, Caty had an epiphany; she was lonely. She had been running her business, The Wearable Wallet, for 9 months while raising 3 tiny humans. While she had a great support system, there wasn’t anyone to help her brainstorm and work through the challenges of creating and running a business. Podcasts helped, but didn’t answer the questions specific to her business.
So, she reached out. As it turns out, she wasn’t the only one feeling alone. There were 9 women who felt the same way she did and agreed to meet up.
We’ve been meeting together ever since!
The concept of masterminds has been around for centuries. However, Napoleon Hill’s book Think and Grow Rich brought the concept to life. He defined masterminds as “consisting of two or more people who work in perfect harmony for the attainment of a definite purpose.” (The Mastermind Principle) Basically, a mastermind is when at least 2 people come together with humility to work on or towards a specific goal. In our case, we are women business owners who are working on growing our businesses. We accomplish this by celebrating each other, brainstorming, and setting goals. We hold one another accountable for actually accomplishing the goals we set the previous months.
